i took the question a bit different, like from an internal company position is this a good segmentation approach. my answer is no, i can't imagine why. similiar to what the person before me answered, a person's physical age cannot accurately tell you their mental state of mind, a 39 yr old woman often times acts like she is 29, buying close that do not fit her, not in style for her age group, etc. Same with young kids, how many 13 yrs old do you know that want to be, act like, and buy the products of an 18 yr old? This si true with every age group. For Skincare, is Shiseido Men or Biotherm Homme better ?
On a personal level I would recommend Biotherm Homme. For years I had a problem where the skin on my face particularly in the area of the cheeks and around the nose would ';erupt'; or become inflamed and no British GP could offer any treatment to help it. I saw a Dermatologist in a Farmacia in Spain who ';persuaded'; me to buy and use Biothern, since when I have had no further problems at all!For Skincare, is Shiseido Men or Biotherm Homme better ?

I used to work in cosmetics, and I have used both, and I can tell you the Dior blows all the others away hands down.
All of Dior's products go on effortlessly and always have a polished, smooth look. One great thing about their powders is that they will always have one in your skin tone...MAC for example, while being a great product, and I do love their powders, I always have to go either one shade lighter or one darker because most of their products are yellow or peach based. Dior is not like that.

Next time you're in London, go into a department store and ask for a couple of samples. Mercier, Chanel, Ives St. Laurent, all are fantastic, but, for example, I can only use Chanel Teint Naturel foundation. Anything else just doesn't work. It's not oil-free, but it has cleared up my skin more than anything else (goes to show the difference between high end ingredients and drug store ingredients). But for powder, Borghese is the best, in my opinion. Best to try a few different ones before buying into any single line. And don't listen to those that say 'all of the products from a line are meant to be used in conjunction with that line, they won't work without the rest of the products in that line', it's a saying used by most make-up counter salespeople, who's goal is to increase their sales. I'd get it if you are passing through - I have only ever tried the face powder - it came in a very covetable clam like shell, with a mirror, and was very fine and gave even coverage - I'd definitely reccommend that. But it is pricey!

I'd get it if you are passing through - I have only ever tried the face powder - it came in a very covetable clam like shell, with a mirror, and was very fine and gave even coverage - I'd definitely reccommend that. But it is pricey!

If you don't need it, don't use it. Moreover, some ingredients in these types of prescription skin care prods make your skin more vulnerable and sensitive to the sun (and then come other problems). I don't wear make up most of time, but I do need in some occassions (about once a month). I generally used the cheaper one where I could get in Target such as L'real and Neutrogena.
However, recently I wanted to go more high quaility and tried Shiseido and Biotherm. I guess these are the 2 bigger brands for younger people and cheaper, too.
I found I am allergic to both brands. I could use nothing in Shiseido except the sunblock. I just tried the Biotherm Matte Souffle Powdery Mattifying Mousse Foundation and it was a nightmare. Redded face and itchy!

I use Sheiseido makeup and I can say that The Makeup concealer literally disappears into skin and has a super-fine consistency. It's thin enough not to cause a serious oil slick on your face but thick enough that it covers well and feels smooth on your skin. Very natural-looking. If your dark circles are more like shadows, then you will need to use a concealer followed by foundation primer then foundation.
I would say their concealer is comparable to Lanc么me's Effacernes or MAC's Studio Fix.

i've used the foaming cleanser, the mattifying moisturizer, the mattifying toner, the skin softener, and the blemish gel. i thought they were a bit too expensive for me and it was just ';okay';. i think its more suitable for normal skin because it didn't work a miracle for my oily-acneprone skin. but i do like the toner, cleanser, and moisturizer because they're really gently.What do you guy think about Shiseido Pureness products?

What is a good foundation/powder for Asian skin besides Shiseido, Mac, or Clinique?
I'm looking for an oil-free foundation/powder for quick and easy application that comes in asian skin shades. (I am on the paler sallow colored side- with no tan at all.)
MAC has compatible colors and is easy to use, but it's getting to be too greasy for me. I have the same problem with Shiseido.
And while Clinique's quality is good, they have pink tones in all their foundations and make me look like I'm wearing a bad calamine lotion mask. Argh!

MAC has compatible colors and is easy to use, but it's getting to be too greasy for me. I have the same problem with Shiseido.
And while Clinique's quality is good, they have pink tones in all their foundations and make me look like I'm wearing a bad calamine lotion mask. Argh!

I used Shiseido for the longest time, but after trying out Shu Uemura's, I had to switch! Shu Uemura has a squishier pad, so I think it curls much better. And the clamp part that the eyelashes go between is more curved and longer on Shu Uemura's. That one just works so much better for me!

It doesn't pinch as much as a drugstore curler.. but it's nothing magnificent.
My lashes are naturally really straight, and I need to run the curler under hot water for a few seconds for any curl to last.
I haven't tried the other one, but I'd rate the shu uemura 3.5/5 stars.

Well, I have just recently found out that Sephora might not even be carrying Shiseido in their stores (except online). And if you are using the liquid eyeliner in black, I have even more bad news. Shiseido discontinued it. It was my favorite liquid eyeliner! Go to your local department store and read the english lable on the product sold in the US. I tried the Shiseido skin care line and it made me oily. I ultimately discovered Glytone, and now I have a brand new face!!!

I highly doubt that you can buy Tsubaki here in the U.S unless there happen to be Asian vendors/ supermarket such as 99 Ranch Market or Marina Ichiban-kan in your area (which I believe there are if I'm not mistaken) or a store that sells imports straight from Japan. The Tsubaki shampoo line is only sold in Japan at the time being and hasn't been marketed in the United States. Believe me, I've been searching high and low throughout many stores myself and haven't found it before I found out that it's only sold in Japanese stores. Unfortunately you will have to buy online if you really want to try it out unless, as I mention before, you can find and Asian vendor/ supermarket that sells it in your town.
