I'm assuming you're worried about the product possibly containing lead. You should go on the internet to look up the ingredients; if they're not on the box.Is Shiseido's White Lucent product safe to use? What about over a long-period of time?
The active ingredient is arbutin, which may or may not be terribly effective in lightening skin, but so far, it is considered safe. If the ingredient was hydroquinone, you could be worried about long-term usage, but everyone's skin is different and there's only one way to find out...
You'll want to check the dictionary below with the other ingredients in the product (which I haven't been able to find a complete list of) because cosmetics often have potentially irritating ingredients.
Off topic... the product is rediculously expensive! Did you actually buy it yet?
